To make hard-boiled eggs, do you boil the eggs in the pot until they’re done? If you answered yet, I hate to break it to ya—but you’re boiling eggs wrong. Yes, there is a right way to make hard-boiled eggs, and I’m going to show you how.
Step 1: Get a medium-sized pot and fill it with enough water to create 1-2 inches of water above the egg.
Step 2: Put the pot on the stove and turn it to high heat.
Step 3: Once the water starts boiling, turn stove OFF, cover the pot with a lid, and take the pot off the burner.
Step 4: Let the eggs sit in the pot, covered with a lid, for about 12 minutes.
Step 5: Drain the water, cool the eggs in ice water, peel them, and enjoy.
By doing it this way, you save electricity (since you don’t leave the stove on) and make hard-boiled eggs that are EASY to peel. Bon appetit!
